Varnishing your oil painting:
Research on the Best Practices for the longevity of oil paintings reveal that it takes at least six months to a full year of curing time before an oil painting may be safely varnished! Premature varnishing may cause many undesirable problems from discoloration to crackleature over time. We don't want that!
Varnish is a clear layer that protects the surface from the environment and simultaneously enhances your painting by bringing that fresh-painted luster-glow back. It's like getting a brand new painting all over again!

After your painting has cured for at least six months to a full year, it is ready for Varnishing!
Timing for having your painting varnished can be anywhere from an hour to a couple of weeks depending on studio volume and weather conditions. Please bring your unframed oil painting to ShawnaLee for varnishing!
If you need the artist to remove your frame, varnish, and then re-frame your painting, pricing begins at $300 + tax plus Varnishing service fee.
